This is Wally. Wally is a Water Meter and nothing else. Wally is not Smart. He is not Stupid, either. Wall just works. That makes him a great Opt-Out Meter to a Smart Water Meter that may or may not do that but may also irradiate your yard to transmit your data, induce electrical current in your water and maybe explode.
We decided this Meter needed a name other than Opt-Out, so meet Wally the Water Meter.
Wally is a Badger Meter, Reacordall 25, which can have a transmitting register, but Wally does not. Wally does not need to transmit, does not generate electrical current in the water, is not likely to explode and is fine just metering in dirt.
His Datasheet shows he has a magnetic drive and there is a significant magnetic field that we hope will not interfere with his Smart Neighbor who is an electromagnetic meter.
We are hoping Wally likes his new home and will have many years of happy metering, and nothing else.
